How to start a Successful Rock Collection

 

First you are going to want a book to identify rocks when you find them. The books will show descriptions of the rocks textures. It will be important to pay attention to the book because you may think you have found something when you haven’t. Some rocks are inside of others like geodes it will be hard to tell if you have found one. Normally geodes are round and hallow they can be common in some areas like maybe in the Scotia Bluffs. You can go to the Chapman’s gem and mineral shop or other rock shops to see some of the rocks to help you identify your rocks.

A good area to start looking would be in the Scotia Bluffs. You can find petrified wood and fossils there. You may see stuff like trilobite fossils or lobster fossils witch would be a good find. You may think you have found gold but it could be iron pyrite witch is like fools gold. With silver it could be Hematite or. For a nicer rock you will want rock tumbler witch will give you rocks a smooth texture. You may find sprays at rock shops. Clean your rocks some work and leave them shining.

If you have started a successful rock collection Good job rocks are incredible and there are so many of them so keep collecting. If you are not a successful rock collector yet here are some names to search for to get the idea. Hematite, Gold, Platinum, Iron Pyrite, Opal, Quarts, Petrified wood, Trilobites/fossils and Jasper. These are very nice rocks and are mainly rare so be on the look out to find some.
