Debbie's Story

The following true story is from a family friend that was also a victim of a slimy contractor. These guys are a dime a dozen. Beware! It could happen to you too, maybe it already has. E-mail us your true (verifiable) story and we will put them up to warn other's. Without further comment, here is Debbie's Story:

Subject: Praying for a miracle, won't you join me?

I don't know how many of you know that our daughter Debbie was financially set up to about two years ago. She was excited about remodeling her home. Part way through the nightmare was when the nightmare began and has since wiped out her stock and her savings. Her first contractor, when remodeling left the roof off too long a period of time, with part of this in the Bay's rainy season.  Debbie asked if they shouldn't cover it, or she would have permanent damage to her home. They said all would be fine. To make a long story shorter, Deb hired an inspector to come out and check her wall and flooring. As suspected, ALL walls and flooring had mold and rot; all had to be pulled up. Last May, at Kelly's 5th party, Debbie showed her home and we all cried as it was merely 2x4s and framing. She blamed herself for wanting something nicer. The contractor couldn't be fired he said as she would owe another $50,000. Deb hired an attorney and the attorney figured out a way to make the contractor break the contract. All this time - maybe 16 months Deb is making double house payments. Well, she is back into the home, only because she could no longer afford two payments. She must sell this home, and she knows that, but a 2nd bath has to be finished and yet there is a procrastinating new contractor. Oops! There is also a mortgage payment she can no longer make.

PLEASE pray for a miracle to get the contract going, or that she can make a few partial payments so she won't lose her home. She is coming here this weekend trusting Jim will give her the shoulder to cry on and encouragement and guidance needed to go forward. I believe in miracles; I asked Deb what she believes anymore and surprisingly with all that is going on, she is NOT sure she still believes in God. So my major prayer is that God reveals Himself to her in a mighty way.

Love and prayer,

Diana
