The Hall Family
I am the wife of Leroy Hall, and would like to speak for the family in this matter. I would like to correct the story that the news put out. I realize they were only re printing what they had been told, but if they had cared enough to asked the family they would know a little more accurate information. My son was on scene when his father was found, so my information is first hand from someone who was there. First, Leroy was wearing his seat belt. I know that it has been reported that he was not, but that is not accurate. Second, the roads were not closed by fires until Wednesday the 25th, Le went to the campground on Monday, the 23rd. There was no reason to think that it might be a problem going to the springs, and Le would never go though a roadblock onto a closed road. Third he was not going to a family camping trip or late getting to one, he was going to visit with friends and see if they needed help in getting out of the way of fires. Fourth, the CHP did not find my husband. Because of the flyers and posting of information a fire crew that was passing through the area spotted his truck. They then notified the CHP who arrived on scene after the fire and rescue people had already verified who it was they had found. Finally there is no indication that there was any thing other than a medical problem that caused the accident. My husband was a diabetic and has had problems with low blood sugar in the past. I have no reason to believe anything else was the cause of his accident. There was no major smoke in the area and I personally was told by the CHP officer on scene that we would probably never know what the exact cause of his accident was. If you have questions about my husbands accident please call me and ask. I do not mind telling anyone exactly what I know about this matter.
I believe I can speak for my family when I say that I am ashamed of this paper, the Times Standard, and all that it has become. It is a far cry from when my Uncle Andrew Genzoli was editor there. Please let me thank each and every one of you who have posted here in defense of Le, he would be very glad you stood up for him at a time when his family is hurting so much.
For the annon poster, you have no power to harm or hurt my family. To respond further to your silly posting would only validate your cruel idiocy.
I would urge everyone who reads this message to please cancel your subscription. Tell all of your friends and neighbors what cruel and nasty things this paper allows. The annon. poster has been reported several times for abuse, and THIS PAPER ALLOWS it to continue, and will not remove them from posting.
Again, thank you to the defenders. Le's family appreciates it very much.
Marleen Hall
