French School Protests

Vote Watch • Rio Dell Times • 10.5.26

Since mid-September, high school students across France have been blockading their schools over overcrowded classes of 36 to 40, teachers who are never replaced, and run-down buildings. By October 5, 400 to 500 schools were fully or partly closed, and more than 5,000 people had been arrested, most of them minors. A national day of marches is set for October 6.

A one-minute look at the protests through three clips. Each outlet is credited on screen and in the sources at the end.
